A foodies delight – sample what Daventry has to offer

A bustling, historical town, Daventry is surrounded by rolling countryside and charming villages worth adding to your list of places to see and visit.

If tuned away pubs and ‘ye olde English’ charm is what you are after, then Daventry has plenty to offer.

With so many places to dine at, Daventry has become the ‘it’ pace to produce new and exciting food and drink. Proud to host a number of well known brands including Gun Dog Ales, Nene Valley Orchards and Sauls of Spratton, Daventry has a lot to offer for keen foodies. If you’ve recently moved to Daventry you definitely need to try some of these places out!

Check out our favourite hot spots for when we are working in Daventry and feeling peckish!

The Countryman

Beautiful pub with even more beautiful country side views. If you are on the hunt for a charming English pub then this is possible the only place to be!

Offering home cooked, fresh food all of which is locally sourced, diners can enjoy dishes such as Salad of Wood Pigeon, Hog Roast and Slow Roasted Beef Goulash.

Our mouths are already watering!

Visit their website for more information on opening times and menu details: www.thecountrymanstaverton.co.uk

The Cedar Restaurant

If fine dining is your thing then the Ceder Restaurant is a must visit! Proud owners of 2 AA Rosettes, the restaurant can be found at Falsely Hall Hotel & Spa which in itself is classically beautiful. Built in Tudor times, the restaurant offers diners seasonal and regional dishes served with impressive views across the gardens. Dishes include venison, sea bream and home made tagliatelle.

Gongoozlers Restaurant

For something a little different, why not jump aboard a narrowboat and enjoy a wide selection of fresh food including homemade cakes.

Specialising in breakfasts and early lunches, Avril and her team are open 7 days a week, we recommend getting there early. They only have 12 seats available but it is well worth the wait!

Try: their omelettes are legendary.
